Day 5

Today was an awesome day. I managed to walk about a half mile. I also kept my calories well in check. The only sugar foods I had was a small piece of pound cake (125) and my sugar free dark chocolate pudding. I even managed to go to Cook Out today for my husband and not “sneak” anything for me.

While I was looking up some information on Nutrition Data, I found this link. It is a great motivational tool–

Restart - Day Four

Its official - I hate colds and allergies (or whatever it is I have). I started coming down hard with another cold Sunday. Monday, I felt miserable again. While I did not overeat, I did indulge in some ice cream to sooth my throat. The good news - I kept the portions in check.

Today I am feeling a little better. I can breath somewhat out of my nose, woohoo! It was Tuesday and our staff meeting day. The staff meeting was crazy long - 10 am until 3 pm without a lunch break. I was starving…… We finally got to lunch at about three, so I gorged. Mexican food is a weak source for me. I had some chips (90 calories), guacamole (150), chicken (250), cheese (150), rice, beans, etc. When it was all said and done - lunch was 800 calories. The good news, lunch was late enough that I only really wanted a small snack for dinner. Some how, with a 1.5 cups of broccoli along with 2 ounces of hamburger patty, I was only at 1450 for the day (saving me enough for a pudding cup later if I want it). So yes, I over did it at lunch and need to make sure I manage my portions and calorie division better, but I did not indulge a second time at dinner, which is step in right direction.

So, I am proud to say, I am four days “sober”.

Day 215 - Happy New Year and Cheers to a New You!

So yesterday I went to the gym and worked out. I skipped two days because I had pulled a muscle in my back Monday. Well, good news, I worked out enough that I got to get the dessert I REALLY love at the restaurant we went to. Unfortunately, I may have over did it at the gym as I am sore and in pain this morning.

On a side note, Prevention magazine is doing a 31 day “New Year, New You”. I find the website from MSNBC. I think I will post daily with these steps. The site lays out steps to take each day.

Today’s tips include keeping a food journal, carving out time for 20 minutes of exercise, explaining 400 calorie meals, and ways to burn calories.

Day 131

Today I made it to the gym, despite my ankle is hurting. I got my butt kicked in water aerobics. I am staying on target with the calorie count and now the gym. I will not be able to make it to the gym tomorrow, but I will go Thursday. Friday a friend and I are going to the amusement park for their Halloween park.

One day I will look like this LOL:

Day 128 - Back in the Swing of things….

Over the last four or so weeks, while I was not bad, I felt as though I fell off of my good progress session. I slowed down on the weight loss significantly, had to stop taking the appetite suppressant, and could not exercise because when I did, I would get dizzy from my blood pressure. But - that seems to to be fixed.  Yay! While I am not taking the appetite suppressant, I have been able to get back into water aerobics (even though, there are slight issues with that that are being taken care of). I am also more in control of my eating then I was before. So, I am excited as I enter what I am now calling my second phase of diet.

In other information, I was looking for a recipe for low calorie squash soup and found an interesting site. The site, http://www.drgourmet.com/index.shtml , allows you to sign up for free and include/exclude different diet styles, methods, foods, etc.. Then the site provides a menu planner. While I do not plan on using each recipe, it is a good resource for different foods, recipes, options over all.

Happy Eating!

Day 126

Well, my four month check up was today. I have lost a total of 5 pounds for this month (which is good, it is not as fast as I had been loosing). My new weight is 229. Woohoo - 43 pounds less. I made myself a promise, when I get to my mini goal which is 224, I am going to get the new Dan Brown book as a reward for myself.

Other good news - this new drug combination seems to be working. My top number is down where it is ranging from 125-135. My bottom number is a little high, it typically hoovers around 90, but considering where it was, that is a massive difference.

On a funny note, my size 18 jeans are starting to fall off of me (yay!). I was playing with our dog last night and they just slipped down. SO I need a belt. Because I was curious, I took my old jeans (my size 24s) and held them up to me - it was like one of those shows where you could fit 2 of you into the jeans. It looked like a clown outfit, lol.

Day 99 - And Yes, I am Back

I am sorry I have been a little “away”. Opening went smoothly, but August is always a tough month as we just have so much going on. Anyway, things finally seem to be slowing down, so without further ado - here are my updates….

I had my three month check up with the weight loss today. I lost another 9 pounds, so I am now down to 234. Yay!!!!! Bad news, my blood pressure spiked. I am on meds to begin with, but we are not sure why there was such a high spike (about 20 points).

On other issues - I have had to get new cloths at this point. It is a great thing, but it is a situation of trying to decide what is the most important - underwear that fits, pants that fit, bras that fit….. .

Day 59

Well - today was the check up. I weighed in at 243. That is 5 pounds since my mini check last week, 10 pounds for the month, and a total of 29 pounds gone, which, for the record is officially 10% of my starting weight :-). On a side note with that, I have lost a total of 4 inches in my chest and waist, 5.5 inches in my hips, 1.75 inches in my right arm arm, 1 inch in my left arm, and 1.75 inches in both legs since I started in May. My mini goal was for 240, which I chose because it was a nice rounded number… I am going to leave that be for now, but when I hit that goal, I will change my subsequent goals to 10% of my current body weight starting with 243. SO, my next real mini goal is to loose 25 pounds or hit 218.

Day 58

Well, tomorrow is my two month check up since starting this program, keep your fingers crossed. At my one month check up I was at 253, last weight check at the gym was 248… so we shall see.

While I have been away handling the family stuff, I have found some fairly decent websites. The website listed below has a wide variety of recipes that are supposed to be low calorie, but heart healthy. It organizes it through prep time. I have not had a chance to try them, but as I do, I will let you all know.

Day 51

Sorry it has been a few days since I last posted, I was on vacation with my hubby for our 5 year anniversary. I over ate and went over my calorie count both Friday and Saturday, but it was my anniversary so it was worth it! I got a new cook book “Hungry Girl” the first addition. I look forward to trying the recipes. I let you all know if any are good.
